DCC’s Conclusion on the SMETS1 Improvement Consultation

DCC Response
On 20 May 2021, DCC published a consultation on improvements to the SMETS1 migration process via changes to the Transition and Migration Approach Document (TMAD), Migration Authorisation Mechanism (MAM) and Migration Scaling Methodology (MSM).

On 17 June 2021, DCC concluded on this consultation. Given the differing regulatory requirements, we are publishing two conclusion reports. The first report relates to the TMAD and has been provided to BEIS for consideration by the Secretary of State. The second report covers changes to the MAM and MSM which we have published.

Migration Authorisation Mechanism V5.0
The Migration Authorisation Mechanism (MAM) is a TMAD child document that details the arrangements for authorisation of migrations. Version 5.0 of the MAM is published on 17 June 2021 with an effective date of 2 July 2021.

Migration Scaling Methodology V5.0
The Migration Scaling Methodology (MSM) is that TMAD child document that details how constraints in DCC’s migration capacity are managed. Version 5.0 of the MSM is published on 17 June 2020 and is effective from 2 July 2021. There is also a statement published covering the value of DMIN (used within the MSM for the flat allocation).
