DCC has announced it will not renew the lease for its office (Discovery House) in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire. Discovery House has served as a disaster recovery centre in recent years however, changes to working practices since Covid, have reduced the need for office space and allowed disaster recovery to be undertaken remotely or from other office locations.
Chris Lovatt, DCC CEO said: “Colleagues at DCC have a shared passion to help the country to achieve a just transition to net zero. Part of this is keeping our operations under constant review to ensure we deliver value for money to our customers and billpayers. Our Ruddington site has been underutilised and this business decision reflects our commitment to playing our part in addressing the affordability challenge facing the sector.”
He added:
“We recognise this is a challenging period for colleagues based at the site and we want to thank everyone for their ongoing professionalism and maintaining the highest standards during the closure period.”
The Ruddington site will close at the end of June and colleagues are being supported to relocate to either the Manchester or London offices, where possible.
