Following consultations on the Initial Enrolment Project Feasibility Report (IEPFR) and SMETS1 Delivery Plan, DCC has concluded on its planning for the Initial Operating Capability (IOC) and Middle Operating Capability (MOC) releases, as well as on the type of devices that will be eligible at these releases, as follows:
IOC (30 Nov 2018) - Aclara, Itron and Elster (Elster via Vodafone) Gas and Electricity meters.
MOC (30 March 2019) - Landis and Gyr & Elster via Telefonica (MDS as the exiting SMSO supporting these meter) Gas and Electricity meters.
Energy Suppliers with a SMETS1 device that is eligible for enrolment will be able to enrol it once the capability for that device has gone live. DCC will work with energy suppliers to develop their enrolment plans ahead of each capability release to support the enrolment of such devices into the DCC's systems.
Further announcements regarding Final Operating Capability (FOC) and the appointment of SMETS1 Service Providers will be made by DCC in due course.
In the coming weeks we will engage with those customers that have Gas and Electricity meters in IOC and MOC to agree next steps and plan accordingly.
