After three hugely successful years at the helm, the DCC Board
today announces that Jonathan Simcock will be stepping down as DCC
Managing Director from February 2017. Jonathan will be succeeded as
Managing Director by Angus Flett, who will join DCC on the 30th
January 2017.
Angus is currently Senior Vice President for Global Enterprise
Products at Vodafone and was, until 2013, the Managing Director of
Customer Services and CRM at BT. Previously he has held senior
positions within Cable & Wireless and Ciena.
DCC Chairman, Richard McCarthy said
"Jonathan had led DCC from start-up mode at Licence award to
delivering go-live for the GB-wide smart metering communications
service - a hugely significant milestone in the delivery of the
overall smart metering implementation programme. His leadership of
the DCC programme and business has been nothing short of
outstanding."
"DCC is now entering a new phase. It is moving from running a single large programme to being an industrial scale telecommunications and data management operation which supports the roll-out of smart meters as well delivering a series of major new programmes and planned system updates, all of which are crucial to the transformation of the GB energy sector."
"Jonathan has been considering his succession for some while and has agreed with the Board that this represents the best time to make his move into a portfolio career. Following a rigorous process, Angus was the Board's standout candidate to lead DCC through these crucial next stages of its development."
"Angus has extensive experience in the IT and telecommunications sectors where he has successfully managed operations in consumer-facing, business to business and wholesale markets. He brings a proven track-record of running and developing service portfolio, customer-facing and product management businesses."
