SMETS1 Closure, proposal to close migrations for MOC (Secure)

DCC is consulting on proposals to end SMETS1 migrations in the MOC (Secure) cohort and close the Requesting Party and Commissioning Party Service.

Migrations in the MOC (Secure) cohort have progressed with a total of ~5,279,000 (five million, two hundred and seventy-nine thousand meters migrated on to DCC systems. At the point of publication there are approximately ~154,000 (one hundred and fifty-four thousand)  meters available for migration.

We propose a Draft Requesting Party Decommissioning Timetable for MOC (Secure) migrations, at which point remaining meters should have been migrated or excluded from migrations.

DCC is seeking customer views on the proposed timetable before considering if any amendments to the draft RP Decommissioning Timetable are required. It is anticipated that by late August 2025 we will provide a draft RP Decommissioning Timetable to the Department for approval by the Secretary of State.

Where the Department’s direction is to proceed with the proposed Decommissioning Timetable, DCC will confirm the timetable and work through the decommissioning steps to completion. DCC aims to provide the final Decommissioning Timetable, as approved by the Secretary of State, in early September.

The consultation closes 26 August 2025 at 5pm.
