Centralogic becomes first new customer to onboard through DCC connect

Marking an important milestone in the DSP (Data Service Provider) Programme and showcasing how modernised connectivity can broaden access to the smart metering ecosystem.

When Centralogic Co-Founder and CTO Sanjay Navgale, first explored connecting to DCC's network, the opportunity was clear: provide customers with seamless access to smart meter data and unlock new ways of delivering value across the energy sector.

Supporting energy suppliers through technology

Founded in 2011, Centralogic specialises in technology solutions for the utilities sector, providing CRM platforms and operational services that support energy suppliers throughout the customer journey, from onboarding and billing through to industry operations and customer service.

"We've been looking at how we can use technology and AI to help suppliers serve customers better," explains Sanjay Navgale. "Access to smart meter data is an important part of that journey."

Why DCC Connect?

For Centralogic, access to DCC's services allows smart meter data to be integrated directly into its platforms, removing the need for customers to use separate systems and enabling new insights to be generated from the data.

"Suppliers need this data, but we can bring additional intelligence and value on top of it," says Sanjay Navgale. "Ultimately, the better suppliers understand consumption patterns, the better they can serve customers and manage costs”.

The advantages of cloud connectivity

A key factor in Centralogic's decision was the ability to connect through the cloud rather than invest in traditional physical infrastructure. The organisation elected to use AWS to connect through DCC Connect. According to Sanjay Navgale, cloud connectivity significantly lowers barriers to entry.

"With physical connectivity you're looking at substantial upfront investment, dedicated infrastructure and additional operational complexity," he explains.

Using cloud infrastructure allows us to benefit from the security, scalability and resilience already built into platforms like AWS, while getting started much more quickly.

The approach aligns closely with one of the core objectives behind DCC Connect: making DCC services accessible to a broader range of organisations that may not have access to dedicated data centre infrastructure.

A collaborative onboarding journey

Centralogic praised the support received throughout the onboarding process.

"The DCC Connect team was amazing," says Sanjay Navgale. "They helped every step of the way. When we got to the connectivity testing stage, the process was really well organised, and we completed what was planned as a three-hour session in around an hour."

Although onboarding involved detailed technical and security requirements, Centralogic highlighted the support available from DCC throughout the journey, helping the team navigate documentation, certification and connectivity activities.

Building for the future

Alongside its DCC integration, Centralogic has developed a range of tools designed to help suppliers monitor operations, identify anomalies and proactively manage customer journeys. The company demonstrated AI-enabled control tower technology capable of monitoring industry workflows, identifying potential issues and helping users address problems before they impact customers.

This data helps consumers make better decisions and ultimately supports a smarter, more flexible energy system.

"Whether it's when to charge an electric vehicle, when to run appliances, or how to make best use of renewable energy, having access to the right information enables better choices."

Looking ahead

Centralogic is currently progressing through the final stages of onboarding and testing before moving into live operation. Once complete, the organisation will be able to support energy suppliers through its own adapter and managed services capability, creating new opportunities for customers to access DCC services through an integrated platform.

As the first organisation to onboard through DCC Connect, Centralogic's journey demonstrates how cloud connectivity can help broaden access to smart metering services, encourage innovation and create new opportunities across the energy ecosystem. Having successfully connected to DCC Connect, Centralogic is now well placed to take advantage of future enhancements being delivered through DCC's wider DSP Programme, helping unlock even greater value from smart metering data in the years ahead.
