Pre-User Entry Process Testing (Pre-UEPT)

Any Party that wants to communicate with meters via DCC and access the Self-Service Interface must first become a User. This includes a requirement for the Party to complete User Entry Process Testing (UEPT) for each role that it wants to undertake.

The Party must also complete SMKI and Repository Entry Process Testing to become an Authorised Subscriber under the Organisation and Device Certificate Policies and eligible to access the SMKI Repository.

User Entry Process Tests are performed against a set of Common Test Scenarios that are provided in the Common Test Scenarios Document (CTSD). The CTSD includes entry and exit criteria that must be achieved by test participants.

SMKI and Repository Entry Process Tests are performed against a set of test scenarios that are provided in the SMKI and Repository Entry Process Testing Scenarios Document (SRTSD). SRTSD includes entry and exit criteria that must be achieved by test participants.

Update 22 June 2016

DCC would like to notify Testing Participants that Pre-User Entry Process Testing (Pre-UEPT) is now available. This service enables Testing Participants to test their ability to send DUIS Service Requests to DCC and receive responses from DCC. In order to conduct Pre-UEPT Testing Participants must have completed Early UIT connectivity Testing (EUCT) and met the required entry criteria.

Testing Participants can notify DCC via testing.notices@smartdcc.co.uk if they would like to participate in this optional testing stage.

The Testing Participants who have already informed DCC of their intention to undertake Early UIT connectivity Testing (EUCT) and Pre-UEPT, will be contacted individually with further information in relation this testing service.

------

DCC intends to provide a Pre-UIT testing service from 18 April 2016 to enable Users to test their ability to send DUIS Service Requests to DCC and receive responses from DCC. This testing service will commence with a period of early connectivity testing after which Service Requests transmission can commence. The testing service does not include processing of Service Requests by devices (Communication Hubs and meters), however the service will simulate these activities.

The Pre-UIT service can be used on a voluntary basis, although the prospective testing participant will need to comply with certain entry criteria, primarily compliance with the security requirements set out in Appendix J of the SEC (Enduring Testing Approach Document). Testing will be conducted via a Gateway Connection and Testing Participants will need:

  • Test SMKI Organisation Certificates;
  • Test DCCKI Certificates; and
  • Parse and Correlate.

Further details of the Pre-UIT Service, including the entry criteria, will be set out in a Pre-UIT Guide, which will be published on the DCC website.

We would like to invite Testing Participants to notify DCC via testing.notices@smartdcc.co.uk if they would like to participate in this optional testing stage and to indicate whether they intend to commence testing at the first possible opportunity or at a point in the future.
